Arlington County is seeking arts/craft instructors to teach recreational classes and workshops in a variety of media, and proposals for new classes. We are specifically in search of Jewelry instructors for beadstringing, glass fusing, stained glass, framing, mixed media, and a variety of fine and fun crafts.
Classes are for children, teens, adults and families. Classes for children are held during afterschool time (typically between 2:00 and 5:00pm); and Saturdays. Classes for teens and adults are typically in the evenings and Saturdays.
Position requires combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university. Previous teaching experience is preferred; appropriate certification in the anticipated field of instruction is a plus.
Must have skill in teaching, leading, and motivating groups; be responsible, dependable, and punctual; have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; be able to understand, carry out, and provide written and oral directions; and be able to work within the policies and guidelines set by Arlington County.
You must be able to work with class participants in a positive, courteous, and professional manner. You must be safety conscious and committed to providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants of the program.
Salary range is: $18.38 - $32.33.
